We are therefore calling for the nomination of nurses or volunteers with a special interest or skill in any of the areas listed below to sit on these committees. There will be a 3 year term of office. Successful candidates will be expected to become NNASA members. Please contact us to nominate nurses or volunteers.
Communications/Marketing
– Organise membership drives
– Arrange launches for potential new branches
– Produce annual membership report
– Produce marketing material
– Liaise with secretariat regarding current status of membership
– Review and update current website on a monthly basis
– Post regular updates on Facebook and Twitter
– Produce quarterly newsletter
– Produce monthly SMS alerts
– Forward any communications to members
– Regularly communicate/blog with Healthy Newborn Network
– Promote communication amongst members
– Distribute evidence-based guidelines
– Assist with launching new branches
Professional Development
– Develop in-service training plan
– Liaise with regional branch workshop committees
– Liaise with universities regarding neonatal nurse training curriculum
– Meet with/correspond with SANC and Department of Health regarding neonatal nurse training.
– Develop evidence based guidelines
– Liaise with the research committee in the development of position statements
– Distribute educational programmes e.g in-service training plan and evidence-based guidelines
– Monitor educational activities
– Evaluate, monitor and make recommendations for national educational requirements
Research
– Participate in neonatal research (particularly relevant to NNASA)
– Conduct neonatal research
– Encourage research relating to efficacy of NNASA
– Review relevant research
– Liaise with professional development committee
– Assist with the development of guidelines
– Develop position statements
– Liaise with the communications committee in communicating relevant research findings
