Full Day Tours

HLUHLUWE GAME RESERVE & ST LUCIA ESTUARY  

Morning: 06h30 – 18h30
Price:  R 2250 per person (Open Safari Vehicle)
Duration: 12 Hours

An early departure at 06h30 from the ICC as you travel North through Zululand to the Hluhluwe Game Reserve.  Enjoy a morning of game viewing in this 96 000ha game reserve, home to the “Big Five” and many antelope and bird species. We then head for the St Lucia Estuary – a World Heritage Site, where you will board a charter boat and enter the Wetland World of Lake St Lucia. Some 38 682ha of lake, island and estuary, this wetland is home to the Nile crocodile, more than 800 hippo and an astonishing diversity of ecosystems, birds and wildlife. A light lunch is served on board. After a two hour cruise we head back to shore and then back to the ICC in the early evening

THE MAJESTIC DRAKENSBERG BY ROAD WITH HELICOPTER FLIP

Morning: 06H30 – 18H30
Price:  R 3355 per person
Duration: 12 Hours

Depart from the ICC at 06h30 and travel west through the Natal Midlands to the scenic Drakensberg Mountains, to Cathedral Peak.  On arrival light refreshments will be served, as you absorb the beauty of this truly magnificent mountain range.  At 11h00 take to the air as we fly to the Injasuti Mountain Range landing next to the Cascade Waterfalls. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Glass of Champagne before flying around Champagne Castle, Monks Cowl, Cathkin Peak and past Vultures Retreat and Eye of the Needle. Our excursion ends as we drop back into the valley before landing back at Cathedral Peak Hotel.  Light Lunch will be served on the terrace, before departing at 15h00 for our return journey back to Durban.  Arrive back at the ICC at approximately 18h30.

 
ZULU VILLAGE & SAFARI

Morning: 08h30 – 16h30
Price:  R 1395 per person
Duration: 8 Hours

Depart at 08h30 from the ICC and travel West through the scenic Natal Midlands towards the Capital City of Kwazulu – Natal, Pietermaritzburg to Tala Private Game Reserve. On arrival board your open safari vehicles for a two hour game drive through Private Game Reserve, a wonderful opportunity to spot rhinoceros, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and rare roan and sable antelope. We then depart for the majestic Valley of 1000 Hills for a light lunch (cash bar) followed by a Zulu Cultural experience. Return to the ICC at approximately 16h30.

HALF DAY TOURS

TOWNSHIP TOUR

Morning: 09H00 – 12H30
Price:  R 585 per person
Duration: 3.5 Hours

Depart from the ICC and travel the streets of one of the main townships of Durban.  See the bustling neighbourhood life. Most who venture there come back enlightened and fascinated by this face of Africa.  Return to the ICC.

DURBAN CITY TOUR 

Morning: 09H00 – 12H30
Price:  R 420 per person
Duration: 3 Hours

After breakfast we depart from the ICC at 09h00 and travel along Durban’s Golden Mile onto the entrance of Africa’s largest working harbour.  We then head along the Victoria Embankment to the Victoria Street Market where you can do some shopping for fantastic curios, continue to the Botanical Gardens which are known to have one of the finest orchid houses in the world.  A short stop at the view site at the University of Natal will give you a fantastic view of Durban.  We then head back to the ICC where the tour terminates.

 
VALLEY OF 1000 HILLS

Morning: 13H30 – 17H00
Price:  R 500 per person
Duration: 3.5 Hours

Depart at 13h30 from the ICC and travel via the suburbs of Westville, Pinetown, Kloof and Hillcrest to the Valley of 1000 Hills to “Phe-zulu Village” for a Zulu cultural experience.  Learn more about the traditions and beliefs of the Zulu custom. Enjoy some Zulu Dancing and singing before walking through the crocodile and Reptile Park. Return to the ICC.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • All Tours depart with a minimum of four (4) passengers unless otherwise stated. No tours will be confirmed until such time as four (4) passengers have booked and paid in full. All tours will be conducted in English Only.
  • All tours include the services of Registered Tour guide or Tour Director who will accompany the group for the duration of the tour unless otherwise stipulated.
  • Tours are sold subject to availability at time of booking. Bookings will be on a first to book and pay in full basis.
  • The Tour Operator reserves the right to alter or amend any tours, substitute accommodation or other arrangements, with appropriate alternatives without liability for compensation from the customer.
  • Tours will be conducted in luxury air-conditioned 44-seater coaches, 18-seater sprinters or mini buses dependant on the number of delegates partaking on each tour.
  • Dress code for all tours is recommended as casual, cool clothing with comfortable walking shoes. Warm clothing for evenings is recommended. For those participating on any open vehicle safaris, a waterproof windbreaker is highly recommended.
  • Please remember to bring, camera, suntan lotion, mosquito repellent and a sun hat.
  • It is strongly advised that delegates take adequate insurance cover in the event of cancellation due to illness, accident or injury. Personal accident, medical assistance, personal liability and loss of baggage are also recommended.


Your Local tours will only be confirmed once full payment has been received. Please be advised that should payments incur bank charges both local and international, these charges will be for the delegates own account. Full payments for these charges are required

All local tours will depart from the INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE (ICC)

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • 10% cancellation fee charged if cancelled on or before the 26th July 2010
  • 25% cancellation fee charged if cancelled on or before the 25th August 2010
  • 50% cancellation fee is charged if cancelled on or before the 3rd September 2010
  • 100% cancellation fee is charged if cancelled after the 17th September 2010

All refunds will only be processed after the Conference.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Conference Secretariat; The Conference Company.
